Welcome to the City of Denham Springs
We're so glad you chose to visit, live or work here. The Denham Springs area is redolent with history contrasted by burgeoning growth. More on the history may be found by clicking here.

The Historic Preservation District and Train Station Park are home to annual, crowd-drawing Spring and Fall Festivals, featuring artisans, crafters, musicians, dancers, children’s rides and activities, antiques, collectibles, art, food and even a popular pet costume and talent contest.

Denham Springs is an official “Tree City” and has also been designated a “Main Street, USA Community,” a community where family values are encouraged and boasts a top-rated educational system.

Boy blowing bubbles

Residents and visitors enjoy numerous sports and civic activities in the parks and recreational facilities. We are proud of our clean, safe city with its blend of old traditional neighborhoods, transitional housing trends, numerous churches and schools, and retail and commercial establishments.

While Denham Springs has many wonderful shopping opportunities spread throughout, there are two distinctive areas not to be missed. Take a downtown walking tour beginning at the Old City Hall Welcome Center & Museum on Mattie Street, then browse the eclectic mix of art and antique galleries, unique shops, boutiques and cafes in the Antiques & Arts Village on the Range Avenue Corridor. Chamber of Commerce and Arts Council offices are in this area and the municipal complex is only blocks away, where you will find City Hall, the Mayor’s Office, Fire and Police Departments, the Marshal’s Office and City Court.

Head south of I-12 for a unique experience at the Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World complex, where you’ll find one-of-a-kind décor and shopping, a fudge shop and lakeside dining at the Islamorado Fish Company Restaurant. Many other delightful shops and numerous restaurants will be found in the continually expanding and diversified shopping center.

Whether you’re seeking breakfast, lunch, dinner or a refreshing beverage, Denham Springs has a wide assortment of restaurants and cafes where you will enjoy fresh seafood, traditional, Southern, ethnic foods and drinks.

Denham Springs was a national produce-shipping hub in the middle of the Twentieth Century and that tradition continues with a Farmers Market open early until noon every Saturday along the Range Corridor at Florida Avenue and Hummell Street, where local farmers offer fresh produce, meats and food products and craftsmen display original wares.

At the end of the day, many comfortable hotels convenient to I-12 are waiting for you to take your rest. You can relax in a city that takes pride in its people, government, environment, emergency response and infrastructure. Rest assured our safe and highly-regulated utility and water systems are state-of-the-art facilities keeping up with a growing population and on-going development.

Mayor Jimmy Durbin and City Council members Arthur Perkins, Annie Fugler, Rene’ Delahoussaye, Lori Lamm-Williams and John Wascom welcome you to our city where we’re working hard for you, striving to continually improve our quality of life.
