City of Denham Springs Emergency Alert Service

In the event of a natural disaster, severe weather or local emergency, residents of Denham Springs now have an improved way of receiving vital information. The City has launched DSAlert in an effort to help keep residents, businesses, and visitors better prepared and able to respond more quickly and confidently to critical incidents.

DSAlert is designed to alert residents and visitors about a variety of events, ranging from severe weather, fires, floods, and law enforcement emergencies, to general announcements, such as large-scale power outages or maintenance.

"DSAlert delivers the information our residents and visitors want and the important alerts they need. From evacuations to major utility disruptions to neighborhood boil orders, this will be a critical tool to keep people informed and safe when it matters the most."

Gerard Landry, City of Denham Springs Mayor

Among the features of the new platform are multiple contact methods, two-way communication, and updated weather alerts. The City of Denham Springs will manage the tool in coordination with other area departments and agencies.

Messages will be sent to residents on their preferred contact paths—cell phone, SMS (text), home phone, email, app and more—to ensure real-time access to potentially lifesaving information. Residents listed in the 911 database will be automatically subscribed to alerts by phone, but DSAlert allows everyone to self-register and provide additional contact information.
