Jim Gilbert was elected to the Denham Springs City Council in 2022. Gilbert is a conservative Republican, avid outdoorsman, and a spirit filled Christian with a long history of service to the community. This includes a long tenure with Livingston Parish Fire Protection District #5, where he served as a firefighter, station captain, board member, and chairman of the board. He has also served the ministry as a youth worship leader, Sunday school teacher, and men’s ministry leader.

Gilbert works in the petrochemical industry and is employed by ExxonMobil. At ExxonMobil, he manages operations and maintenance activities, provides project leadership and troubleshooting assistance, and serves as an Electrical Subject Matter Expert where he provides training development, technical support, and leadership to multiple areas in the company.

Gilbert and his wife Bridgette share 4 children, Dylan, Drew, Victoria, and Lexie, 2 daughters in law, Rachel and Joanna, and a precious granddaughter, Izabela. In addition to family and public service, he also enjoys hunting, fishing, kayaking, bicycling, and DIY projects.
